Question #304:My ex and I 4 lots in New Mexico. I have paid taxes on it for 35 years, also made most of the mortgage payments myself. He now wants to sell it and split the profits. Does he have the right to collect?

However, you can ask the Court to compensate you from the proceeds of the sale for all of the individual payments, such as the taxes, repairs, etc. that you made from your own money prior to distributing your spouses share.
